Magic goes to the Wild West this April with the release of Outlaws of Thunder Juction. This set fully embraces the outlaw theme and adds a new mechanic called “commit a crime” which triggers when you target an opponent, a permanent they control, or their hand/library. In addition to all the cards being printed into the main set there are also two bonus sheets for this set as well.

One of them is themed around the various crimes committed thunder junction, it is a reprint slot of spells that trigger the “commit a crime” keyword and includes cards like Thoughtseize. Of note this sheet of cards is not standard legal. The second bonus slot is “The Big Score” these are cards that represent the artifacts and treasures looted by the various heists in Thunder Junction, these cards are standard legal unlike the other bonus slot. Pre-Release events for Thunder Junction will start on Friday April 12th at 6:30. We’ll also have events on Saturday April 13th at 12:00 and 5:00 and Sunday April 14th at 2:00.

Drafting of the new will with release weekend on Friday April 19th at 6:30 and continue on Saturday April 20th at 1:00 p.m. This sets theme is certainly new ground for Magic but something I’m really excited for personally, spoiler season starts soon and I’m sure we’ll see some really interesting new cards.
