There are a lot of really great companies out there really crushing it in the games industry right now, but one I have to say that has been impressing me for the last several years is AllPlay.

You may know them originally as BoardGameTables.com, they branched out later to do tabletop games as well as gaming bags and neoprene mats (all available for sale in store.

One thing they really focus on is their smaller box games, especially their 1 Minute Teach Games. Their 1 Minute Teach Games — the name gives away the whole plot — sticky, fun games that are really excellent and iconic, but don’t take much time to explain. Theyre small, often barely containing their components, especially for us sleevers.

One of my favorites is Lure, a dice rolling game about fishing. Secretly bid what fishing tech, namely lures which are dice, are required to grab the fish. Lowest bid goes first and takes the first crack rolling to get the fish; so the folks going first may steal all of the fish leaving little or nothing for the best equipped to grab them.

But they have all kinds of other games. They have two very small party games called Book Club and Movie Night, both simple, play in five minutes where cooperatively a group of people work together to come up with movies with ever-more specific criteria. Its quick and low stakes, but fun appetizers of games.

Additionally, you can tell that AllPlay has real love with their reboots. They relaunched Knizia’s Through the Desert, High Society, and soon Container, all in really gorgeous production, worthy of their place in the gaming hobby. Worth taking a look at all of the new AllPlay items we have in stock.
