April 2026

April is here and Secrets of Strixhaven is just around the corner! This new in universe set for Magic features exciting new mechanics and an especially exciting reprint slot featuring cards like Vampiric tutor and Force of will. An interesting new mechanic has also been spoiled named “Prepared”. Creatures that have this mechanic can become prepared by reaching certain conditions, then you may cast their prepared spell. This mechanic is bringing back powerful old spells as prepared spells, like Reanimate and even Ancestral Recall. We’ll be holding pre-release for this set on April 17th at 6:30p.m., April 18th at 12:00p.m. and 5:00p.m. and finally April 19th at 2:00P.m.!

In other news I want to take some time to also talk about Riftbound: League of Legends trading card game. Riftbound has been pretty active at the store recently, we hold Nexus nights for the game every Monday and have been getting a good turnout. Riftbound is a relatively new TCG but I have been enjoying it a ton. Its third set is coming soon and it’s a great jumping on point for anyone who’s been interested.
