August 2026

August is here and so are some exciting new releases across multiple TCGs! From Magic the Gathering, to Riftbound and Lorcana, there is so much going on with TCGs, so let's talk!

The Hobbit is currently in the spoiler season, so I’d go check out all the new cards being revealed. There’s tons of new showcase treatments and stunning new art that accompanies the set. Personally as a person who already plays a Dwarf themed deck, I think there’s a lot to be excited about in The Hobbit!

 Magic the Gathering: The Hobbit has its prerelease starting on Aug. 7th and running through the weekend on both Aug 8th and 9th. We’ll be holding the first event on the 7th at 6:30pm and our events on the 8th at 12:00pm and 5:00pm as well as the final event on the 9th at 2:00pm.

Riftbound is getting its Fourth release, Vendetta! This set follows pairs of characters that have a rivalry with each other. It also introduces two new mechanics, Flow and Empower. Flow allows you to replay cards from your discard pile at a cost, and empower allows you to pay a cost to empower a card which usually conveys some sort of buff or ability. Vendetta is releasing July 31st, and we’ll be holding nexus nights every Monday.

Lorcana just has a major release with Attack of the Vine! So far the set has been immensely popular and we’re excited to announce that we’ll be holding a league for this set. Lorcana League will begin on Monday August 3rd!
