February is starting right away with a new Magic Pre-Release. Murders and Karlov Manor is our return to return to return to Ravnica set. This set focuses on a series of murders targeting the influential figures of Ravnica's guilds and the mystery of who the killer could be.

Investigate returns as a mechanic in the set, as well as Surveil. We’re getting a new mechanic that is very similar to Morph and its other variations called “Disguise”. Disguise allows you to play a card face down as a colorless 2/2 creature for 3 mana, and then pay its disguise cost later to turn the card face up and get any benefits that card receives when it’s flipped. This set does also mark the switch from regular draft boosters and set boosters to new “Play Boosters”.

Play boosters are a type of hybrid between set and draft boosters, that no longer have the “Fixed” rarities of draft boosters. These new boosters are more akin to set boosters, potentially containing multiple rares, but have also received some balancing to the distribution of cards to make them usable for sealed and draft events.

Friday the 2nd at 6:30 pm will be the first Pre-release event we’re holding, followed by two more on Saturday the 3rd at 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

Sunday’s event is starting a little later than usual and will be held at 2:00 pm this time. Pre-release is going to be $36.00 this time around. Release weekend will begin on Friday the 9th with a draft at 6:30 pm and continue on Saturday the 10th at 1:00 with another draft.

There’ll be new promos for this pre-release to celebrate the 30th anniversary of magic as well as promos for everyone who signs in using the MTG Companion app (While supplies last).
