Magic Minute: July 2024

This July is a big release month for Magic! Universes Beyond: Assassin’s creed is a new small expansion for Magic. Assassin’s Creed is a 100-card set that has both regular and collector boosters as well as bundles and a starter deck set. This new set features characters from every game of Assassin’s Creed so far, and has quite a few interesting new legendary creatures and artifacts. Universes Beyond Assassin’s Creed releases on July 5th.

The other big release of this month is the next Standard set, Bloomburrow! Bloomburrow is set on a plane where there are no humans, and all the creatures are various forest critters. It’s a very interesting departure from the usual design of most sets. Bloomburrow is a full standard release with a set of commander decks. Prerelease for Bloomburrow begins on July 26 at 6:30, and continues on July 27th at 12:00 and 5:00, and a final event on July 28th at 2:00. Bloomburrow also marks the upcoming “Standard Rotation” we’ll be losing both Innistrad sets, Kamigawa, and Capenna. This along with the new set should cause quite the shake up in the standard format.
